THE LAWS OF GOD - #5 (A)

The Fifth Commandment and Related Scriptures

God has set forth HIS Laws in the Holy Scriptures for ALL Mankind to know--and obey (Proverbs 14:34 and Isaiah 60:12)!

5th Commandment:

5. (Obey) HONOR THY (your) FATHER...(AND THY MOTHER)...!

(Exodus 20:12 - Deuteronomy 5:16)...
Another major separator of the Hebrew Peoples (God's People) and the Pagans of the wicked world are their attitudes toward authorities. The Pagans (and the demons) love chaos and rebellion! But, God's People love order and authorities--for the authorities are to us as symbols of God, HIMSELF, and as we are to love God, so are we to love, honor, and obey those whom HE sets over us in HIS place. Therefore, the Holy Scriptures puts forth a whole Chain of Command, from God down to the individual (an his underlings). We all have supervisiors to watch over and care for us, and, in turn we all will be given a FLOCK of followers for us to supervise and sustain. Let us be diligent to be good stewards and manage well, what God has given us!!!

.A ORDAINED FAMILY AUTHORITY--PATRIARCHY:

(Exodus 20:12 and Deuteronomy 5:16)...
(Obey) HONOR THY (your) FATHER...AS THE LORD THY GOD HAS COMMANDED THEE (you)--THAT THY DAYS MAY BE PROLONGED, AND THAT IT MAY GO WELL WITH THEE!!! God has ordained the Father of the Family to be its Head and Leader, for he is the visible image of the invisible God (Genesis 1:26-27, 9:6). Consequently, this Commandment is issued with a double promise for obedience: long life and a well ordered (blessed) life-time (Ephesians 6:2-3). And, while many wonder why they have such a chaotic life, and the life-spans around them are short, the answer plainly lies in how well they treated their Heavenly Father (God), as well as how they treated their earthly, temporal father. Thus, by God's Command, the Hebrew Family is set up firmly on a Patriarchial and Patrifocal model. Biblical Patriarchy: this is God's Family Order!

..1 CHILDREN--OBEY YOUR FATHER (Parents):
The Scriptures are abundantly clear on this Command (Exodus 21:15. 17; Ephesians 6:1-3; Colossians 3:20)--which also gives us our Father's First Priority!

...a CHILDREN PROPERTY OF THEIR FATHER:
A man's children are considered his personal property or chattels by the Holy Scriptures--as if menservants or maidservants (Genesis 1:27-28, 9:1-2, 33:5; Pslams 127:3-5; Jeremiah 29:6) and remain so until his death.
...b REBELLIOUS CHILDREN SEVERLY DEALT WITH:
Consequently, the rebellious child was viewed as a great threat (Exodus 21:15, 17; Leviticus 20:9; Deuteronomy 21:18-21, 27:16; I Samuel 15:23; Isaiah 1:2-4, 30:1, 9; Romans 13:2). However, the child that repents, returns, and submits to his father's authority is to be treated kindly (Genesis 35:27-29; Luke 15:11-32).
...c CORPERAL PUNISHMENT ADVISED:
To prevent the rise of rebellion (especially among teens) parents are advise to spank their children while they are young enough to learn from it (Proverbs 13:24, 19:18, 22:15, 23:13-14, 28:15; Hebrews 12:5-11), as well as to teach them God's Laws (Ephesians 6:4)
...d YOUNG CHILDREN TEMPORARILY UNDER MOTHER:
Young children (and infants) are committed to the care of their mother, usually until they reach teenage, when they are then released from their mother and set under the adult supervison of their father and the community--hence the extensive use of Confirmation or Bar Mitzvah (or Bat Mitzvah, for girls) by the Hebrew Peoples (I Corinthians 7:36-37; Galatians 4:1-2)

...e RESPECT YOUR ELDERS:
Everyone is expect to show respect and honor the aged and elderly of their own Family--as well as the elders of the community, too (Psalms 71:18 and Proverbs 20:29).

..2 PARENTS LOVE YOUR CHILDREN:
As God loves us, and cares for our needs, so, too, are we to care for our charges or underlings (those under us in the Chain of Command)! Consequently, a variety of duties and responsibilities fall upon those who are parenting (supervising):

a-Required to keep children (underlings) under proper control (Ephesians 6:4; I Timothy 3:4).
b-Directed to provide for your children (underlings) and to supply their living needs (II Corinthians 12:14; I Timothy 5:8; Ephesians 6:4).
c-Warned against over-indulgence--don't give them everything that they want (I Samuel 2:13, 8:3; I Kings 1:6; Proverbs 22:6; Isaiah 28:9).
d-Admonished to teach them, especially God's Word--the Holy Scriptures (Deuteronomy 4:9, 6:7-9, 11:19-21; Psalms 78:4-7; Proverbs 22:6; Isaiah 28:9).
e-Cautioned against partiality or showing undue favoritism towrd one child over the others (Genesis 25:8, 37:3, 48:22; I Chronicles 26:10).
f-Warned to watch out and don't be overly prideful or boastful of one child over the others (Genesis 37:3-4; Esther 5:10-12; Mathew 20:20-22).
g-Remember to LOVE them--showing them due care, concern, and affection (hugging, kissing, etc.) (Ephesians 6:4; Colossians 3:21; Titus 2:4).

..3 WIVES--OBEY YOUR HUSBANDS:
This Command is as clear as that for children, above (Genesis 3:16; Esther 1:22; Ephesians 5:22-24; Colossians 3:18)--for it was God's design that woman should supply her man's needs (Genesis 2:18). However, the Cult of Magna Matra and its associated heresies, and popular perversions, are so strong these days, that many modern churches tend to turn a deaf ear to this important teaching! (Consequently, the Curse of God is rampant, here, now.) (Genesis 1:26-28; Isaiah 3:12; I Timothy 2:11-14) Therefore, the rebellious wife (Deuteronomy 24:1; I Samuel 15:23) is to be treated as the rebelious child! (For, she fosters a rebellious attitude for the whole Nation--as the children see her rebellion and copy her attitudes towards all authority!)

a-Wives are to honor their husbands (Ephesians 5:22-24; Colossians 3:18; I Peter 3:1-6), such as by taking his name (Genesis 2:23), and calling him lord or master as did the Holy Women (Hosea 2:16; I Peter 3:5-6), and sitting at his feet to learn from him (Mark 7:25; Luke 7:37-38, 8:35, 10:39; I Corinthians 14:35).
b-The wife's body is NOT her own, as she is now one flesh with her man, and his chattels or personal property (Genesis 2:23; Matthew 19:4-6; I Corinthians 7:4; Mark 10:6-9; I Corinthians 7:4; Ephesians 5:29-32).
c-Thus, the wife MUST cover up and dress modestly, that her husbands flesh (her body) might not become a tempatation to other men to sin--and commit homosexuality (Matthew 5:27-28; I Corinthians 11:3-10; I Timothy 2:9; I Peter 3:3-4).
d-Wives are also directed to be primarily homemakers and housekeepers (domestics), yet to also be ready and willing to work (for living--not materialistic pleasures), especially if her man becomes sick, unemployed, incapacitated, or persecuted (Proverbs 7:11-12, 31:10-31; Titus 2:4-5; I Timothy 5:14).
e-Wives are to be their man's helper or assistant in whatever endeavor he may wish her to pursue with him (Genesis 2:18-20, 4:1-2, 18:5-8; Proberbs 31:11-12).
f-A man's wife, like his children, are under his authority and discipline, and while brutal beatings and striking with the fist are grounds for divorce (Exodus 21:26-27; Malachi 2:14-16), it is certainly appropriate for him to restrict her to grounds, confine her to quarters, or make her sleep on the floor--as he would his older children (Leviticus 19:20).

..4 HUSBANDS--LOVE YOUR WIVES:
Even as God Lovingly hovers over the Congregation, as an eagle hovers over its young, so too do husbands need to have care and concern for their wives (Proverbs 5:18-19; Ecclesiastes 9:9; Malachi 2:14-16; Ephesians 5:25-31; Colossians 3:19; I Peter 3:7).

a-The main duty and priority role for Man is: FEAR GOD AND KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS!!! (Ecclesiastes 12:13), so man's first call is to serve God by being the spiritual leader and religious representative of God to the Family (Genesis 1:27, 9:6; Matthew 5:33; James 3:1).
b-Secondarily, as he is the link in the chain from ancestors to descendants (Genesis 5:1-32, 10:1-32), the man is called upon to be the Steward or Trustee of the Family Tree, not only making provision for his own children, but for his descendants for generations to come (Genesis 2:15, 3:17-19; Proverbs 11:12, 13:22, 19:14; Luke 12:42-46, 16:12; I Corinthians 4:2; II Thessalonians 3:10-13; I Timothy 5:8).
c-However, man is also to see to the personal needs of his wife, for she is completely under his hand--as the plants and animals are under the hand of the farmer (Psalms 128:3-4; Luke 13:6-9; John 15:1-2; I Corinthians 7:3, 33; II; Timothy 2:6; I Peter 3:7)--for this is his marrital requirement, to meet his wife's needs (Exodus 21:10-11).

B. ORDAINED CONGREGATIONAL (Community) ORDER--PATERNALISM:

(Hebrews 13:17):
OBEY THEM WHO HAVE THE RULE OVER YOU, AND SUBMIT YOURSEVES (to them); FOR THEY WATCH OVER YOUR SOULS (AS THOSE THAT MUST GIVE AN ACCOUNT), THAT THEY MAY DO SO WITH JOY, AND NOT WITH GRIEF--FOR THAT WOULD BE UNPROFITABLE (non-beneficial) FOR YOU! (See also Numbers 11:1-15; I Corinthians 16:16)

.D ORDAINED REALM (National) ORDER--MONARCHY:

(I Peter 2:2-17)
SUBMIT YOURSELVES TO EVERY ORDINANCE OF MAN (Rulers) FOR THE LORD'S SAKE--WHETHER IT BE TO THE KINGS, AS SUPREME (Sovereign); OR UNTO GOVERNORS (representatives, agents), SUCH AS THOSE SENT BY HIM FOR THE PUNISHMENT OF EVILDOERS, AND THE PRAISE OF THEM THAT DO WELL. FOR SO IS THE WILL OF GOD!!! That you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men; As freemen, and (yet) not using your liberty for a cloak of maliciousness, but as the (true) servants of God! HONOUR ALL MEN. LOVE GOD. HONOUR THE KING!
