ZDK Input Communications

Contacting the Foundation by E-Mail

Greetings! We are pleased that you want to communicate with us. However, before you do so, we kindly ask that you read the rules below for the proper formating of your information for our processing system. (We would hate to see your important words get lost!)

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. FIRST, PUT DEPARTMENT NAME IN SUBJECT BOX:
As for the time being, we are all using the same e-mail channel, be sure that you indicate which Department or Branch that you are trying to reach by typing it into the e-mail subject box.

2. NEXT, LIST OFFICIAL'S NAME (if known):
To further speed up e-mail going to the right person, please be sure to indicate who you are addressing your communication to by typing their name (and/or title) at the END of your subject box (after the Dept. you listed, above). It also helps to include this, if you know it, at the beginning of your message box (so we will know that you are connected to the right person). Otherwise, it may go to whomever!

3. IDENTIFY YOURSELF AT THE END OF YOUR MESSAGE:
Anonymous e-mails will not be read and will simply be deleted. So, if you want serious consideration, be sure to sign your real name to your e-mail. (Net pseudonyms or handles should also indicate your full, legal name.) NOTE: Spam is NOT read here!

4. GIVE YOUR FULL RETURN ADDRESS:
If you expect a reply, then be sure to give your full mailing address and telephone number--along with your name. Some repsonses need immediate action so a phone number is necessary. Other responses need mailings or documents so your mailing address is necessary, too. And, for proper identification, both should be given with your name. (Those who do not properly identify themselves with a full address run the rise of being treated as anonymous e-mail.)

5. ALLOW PROCESSING TIME:
Keep in mind that ZDK is not a business with hired staff. We are run mainly by volunteers, who work when they can. Moreover, depending on what program or campaign we are running, our e-mail box can be jammed full of replies--along with your e-mail. So, don't be surprized if it takes a week to 10 days to get a reply. On the other hand, if you haven't heard from us in a couple of weeks, it is worth sending us another e-mail. (And be sure that you followed all the above steps, correctly.)
